Prince Edward Island has a bounty of ingredients ready to tempt your taste buds. Farmers and fishers all over the Island work tirelessly to produce some of the world’s finest seafood and freshest produce. This itinerary will guide you in the right directions for whichever great food product or experience you are looking for – Fresh Island Mussels, Fresh Shucked Oysters, PEI’s World Famous Potatoes, those delicious Lobsters and exceptional Island Beef, to mention a few!

Day 1 – Summerside

Arrive Summerside – one of the newest cities in Canada. Summerside is rich in heritage; the stately homes that grace the downtown residential core were once home to many a wealthy shipbuilder and Spinnakers Landing on the waterfront brings the shipbuilding era alive once more. The city of Summerside is now a modern lively city with an attractive waterfront area. This evening why not join the Titanic Dinner Theatre – this is a ultimate Dinner Theatre experience featuring a cast of ten. You can enjoy a buffet of food served on the ship from 1st, 2nd and 3rd class. You will experience the music and romance from that period. Overnight Summerside.

Day 2 – North Cape Coastal Drive

Today explore the North Cape Coastal Drive – This area offers a unique blend of the province’s best sightseeing, natural attractions, cultural experiences and engaging people. Visit the picturesque fishing and farming communities, historic architecture, and secluded beaches. Visit the u-pick operation in Arlington with over 40 varieties of apples, pears & plums, something to suit everyone’s taste. Continue on to Elmsdale to Rennies U-Pick, where you can pick your own strawberries and get a Tour of the grounds. Why not visit Milligan’s Warf – This historical lobster fishing wharf in West Prince includes a very casual local experience with a menu cooked fresh to order. Later this evening make your way back to Summerside. For this evening meal you have a choice of Anson’s Restaurant at Slemon Park Hotel, Chez Cartier, and Five West Restaurant & Wine Bar to name a few! Overnight Summerside.

Day 3 – Red Sands Shore

Depart Summerside this morning and follow along the Red Sands Shore. You will drive along the red sand beaches, red jutting cliffs and red clay roads that all provide the storybook atmosphere for world-class culinary experiences. With its natural beauty and fresh sea air, Red Sands Shore is the perfect place to spend an active day and the best of PEI’s food culture. Why not drive to Fernwood and join the Clam Dig. With the tide out, A spade in one hand and a bucket in the other, you can go “Clamming” in PEI. You will be shown how to spot the holes and how to dig them, when your bucket is full you will cook up the clams and have a feast, or maybe its Oysters you prefer, join one of the oyster fishers and set out just offshore in an oyster dory and try your had at tonging! Later you will have a lesson in oyster shucking and eat the freshest oysters you’ll ever taste. (These tours have to be Pre-Booked). Continue your journey along the Red Sands Shores and take a tour of Matos Winery – sample the winery’s premium table wines, tour the vineyard, and marvel in the stunning setting and enjoy the Island hospitality at its finest. Continue back to Summerside. Overnight Summerside.

Day 4 – Green Gables Shore

Today drive along the Green Gables Shore which offers the perfect combination of Island scenery, culture and food artisans! Visit Kensington and the old stone railway station – a National Historic Site as well as well as Indian River to view the dramatic church of St. Mary. Continue on to Cavendish – the home of Anne of Green Gables and Avonlea – the village of Anne of Green Gables. Visit Anne of Green Gables Chocolates – they are handmade before your eyes at Avonlea Village. Continue on to Winsloe and take a tour of the Island Farmhouse Gouda Inc. – For quality cheese straight from the source, venture no further than the Cheese Lady’s Gouda. Visit the farm, observe from the viewing window but don’t miss the best part – samples! Continue on to Charlottetown – the Island Capital. Choose from one of the many restaurants available in the Downtown area. Overnight Charlottetown.

Day 5 – Charlottetown

This morning join the Taste the Town tour – A Culinary Walking Tour of Downtown Charlottetown. This tour features tastings of unique Island foods such as lobster sushi, mussels, craft beer, chocolate-dipped potato chips, hand–cut fries, Lebanese specialties and COWS ice cream. In the afternoon visit one of the many Farmers Markets available in the downtown core of Charlottetown. This evening why not enjoy a unique dining experience in the Lucy Maud Dining Room, One Locations Two Great Culinary Experiences – this is a training restaurant for The Culinary Institute of Canada. The students are under the guidance of world class chef instructors and prepare extraordinary culinary creations using the very best the fields and waters of PEI have to offer. Come for the food, enjoy the view overlooking Charlottetown Harbour and savour the Experience. Overnight Charlottetown.

Day 6 – Charlottetown

Today why not take a stroll along the streets of Charlottetown and retrace the footsteps of the Fathers of Confederation. In the afternoon why not visit attractions further afield, such as the pretty historic village of Victoria and the Fort Amherst-Port-La-Joye National Historic Site, which is located near Charlottetown Harbour. Later this evening, why not get up close and personal with a lobster. Smell the salt air, feel the gentle breeze against you face, enjoy the thrill of taking a lobster right out of a trap. Then Savour the experience of a traditional Island Lobster supper aboard a 45 – foot fishing boat. Overnight Charlottetown.

Day 7 – Points East Coastal Drive

Depart Charlottetown this morning and drive along the Points East Coastal Drive. Nothing will make you appreciate Island food more than the beautiful scenery. Work up an appetite as you visit the spectacular dune system at Greenwich National Park, visit East Point Lighthouse and climb to the top, play on the beaches and have the sand at Basin Head actually “sing to you”. Visit the Myriad View Artisan Distillery. Tour and witness the unique process at “Strait Shine” is collected strait from the still. Enjoy the tastings of the entire Strait Line: Shines, Lightings, Rums, Gin and so much more. This evening why not dine at Red’s Corner – A Family restaurant serving home cooked meals with a twist! Famous for Seafood Chowder, Prime Rib sandwiches and homemade Bread Pudding! Continue on to Brudenell River. Overnight Brudenell.

Day 8 – Points East Coastal Drive

Today explore the Southern portion of the Points East Coastal Drive. Why not enjoy the Ceilidh on the Water – enjoy Island music, culinary delights, and breathtaking view. You can take the 2 hours cruise down the Montague Heritage River or the Murray River with the very best of Island entertainment. It is truly the Island “Kitchen Party” way; enjoy fresh steamed Island Blue Mussels while being entertained PEI Style. (Reservations Required). Later, area visit Rossignol Estate Winery in Little Sands which offers a variety of premium quality table wines, fruit wine and liqueurs. Enjoy a panoramic view of the Northumberland Strait why sampling the fine wines. Continue on the Points East Coast Drive to Woods Island where you can visit J.J. Stewart Root Beer – it’s an experience filled with memories and amazing Island taste. This icy cold soda, is micro-brewed and bottled in PEI. Continue along to visit the Point Prim Lighthouse before heading back to Brudenell River. Overnight Brudenell.

Day 9 – Departure

This morning you will depart Brudenell and continue onward to other adventures.
